System is responding slowly

When you encounter slowness in accessing the Wavelet EMP software, there are many possibilities :

End User Troubleshooting Items:
  1. User's computer
  2. Local Area Network (LAN)
  3. Other computers in the LAN
  4. Wireless Network
  5. Internet Connection Speed
Server / System Troubleshooting Items:
  1. System Load / Usage
  2. Server Hardware Problem
  3. Server Software Problem
  4. Data Center


INCIDENT REPORT


One can perform steps  below to narrow down the possibilities and remove the bottleneck. The more detail, and accurate the information is gathered, the faster the problem could be resolved. Please ensure that you perform checking in proper sequence to avoid confusion:

1) End user information Gathering:

    a) Test data from 5 users of the Wavelet EMP
    b) Please ensure that the 5 users are performing the following test from different locations

 U5  Time taken to load the page upon successful login (in seconds).
Look at your watch the moment you click "Submit" after putting in your username and password, until the landing page is fully loaded (showing the company bulletin board).

   Please observe your watch, and take down the time taken to load the page.

 U6  Time taken to load:
INVENTORY -> STOCK AVAILABILITY -> <choose one category with least stock to filter>

U7  On your windows:
1) Click "Start" -> "Run" -> type "cmd"


2) Type "ping <your-server-name>" 5 times, and record down the statistics:

* if you do not know what is your router IP address, you can type "ip
The router IP address is normally the "Default Gateway" ip address
